Would you like to serve on a Nonprofit Board? Sign up for the Center’s Nonprofit Board Bank. It is a means for introducing people with particular interests and skills to agencies who need them. Your application will be kept on file in a notebook in our office for Nonprofit staff and boards to access when they need new members. Call the office at 940-322-4961 to obtain an application or download one and send it in to our office.
The Center will present trainings for your board or staff on topics of interest to you. The length will be determined by the content and the length of time you have available. An example of a topic of importance to boards is Responsibilities of Board Members. The Nonprofit Center offers a wide range of management consulting services to help nonprofits develop better management skills and operate more effectively. Consulting services are tailored to each organizations needs, ranging from a bylaws check-up to an organizational assessment.
As a service for our Center Partners the Center offers rental equipment, such as an overhead and a LCD projector. The fee is small and is used for upkeep of the equipment. Take a look at our current current fees.
In addition to having the most up-to-date reference library for Grantwriters in our area the Center is happy to critique grant proposals and work with individuals beginning to write grant proposals.
The Center Staff will also do research for you to find foundations to fund your project. Contact us for more information.
Quarterly the Center offers a workshop Orientation for Grantseekers to help individuals better utilize the resource library in their search for funding. Check the workshop/seminar schedule for dates.
The Nonprofit Center provides a Community Calendar that collects events from area nonprofits. If you are interested in posting your events please contact the Nonprofit Center. And if you are interested to see what our area nonprofits are doing, then take a look at our Community Calendar!
The Certificate Program offers an intensive, unique learning opportunity for people interested in third sector management. This class is ideal for anyone interested in the nonprofit community, particularly staff, volunteers, persons considering employment in the nonprofit sector, and new or seasoned board members. An exceptional value, the program is a collaboration of the Center for Nonprofit Management in Dallas and The Priddy Foundation, the Center for Continuing Education at Midwestern State University, and the Nonprofit Center. The Center library offers over 1,200 books of interest to nonprofit groups. Anyone can come to the library and read, but only Center Partners can check books and tapes out. Learn more about the library.
The Nonprofit Center offers start-up assistance to groups starting a new nonprofit 501(c)3 agency. A start-up kit with all the necessary forms and materials can be bought from the Center to aid in the process of incorporation.
Held annually since 2002, Teens Make A Difference (TMAD) Day pairs teams of teen volunteers with work projects submitted by nonprofit organizations. For forms and more information on this event, click here for TMAD.
